Strangford Lough with a View of Scrabo Tower
Strangford is on the east coast of county down the tidal area is 150km2 with hugh sandflats exposed at low tide, the lough is shallow mostly, but some areas at the southern end have a deep channel called the narrows between portaferry and strangford village this tidal area has extremely strong currents of up to 8 knots of flow on each tide.
